Veterinary Practice Manager Ashley Willis with DogAshley has been with the Basin Run Animal Hospital team since June 2004. She received a Nursing degree from Cecil College. She currently resides in Calvert with her husband, Alan, and son, Matthew. Ashley has special veterinary interests in client education, oncology, rehab and senior care.

Ashley is a member of the Brass Ring Riding club and enjoys fox hunting, eventing, paper chases and participating in clinics. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking and walking her pit bulls, Axle and Slate. You will also see Ashley out and about in the community at various events and booths.

Veterinary Technician Kelsey Stenta, RVT with CatKelsey joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital staff in December 2017. She is a registered veterinary technician with multiple years of experience in the veterinary and pet care industry. She graduated from the Community College of Baltimore County in June of 2016 where she was selected as the student speaker for the School of Health Professions. She passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination in July of 2016. She is currently studying biology at Towson University.

Kelsey has a passion for traveling, spending time outdoors, baking and dancing; she has studied multiple forms of dance since the age of four, and still takes classes in her free time. She also enjoys spending time with her many pets, including three dogs, five cats, a parakeet and parallette, a hairless guinea pig and two fish.

Registered Veterinary Technician Ashley Cunningham with BunnyAshley joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital team in April 2016 and has several years of experience in the veterinary field. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh in March 2015 and passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) in December 2015.

When not working, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and fiancé, knitting, watching movies, playing video games, puzzles, fishing and crabbing. She also has a Basenji/Lab mix named, Xena, and three rabbits, Cappuccino Peanut Butter, and Oreo.

Veterinary Technician Sarah Deplitch with BunnySarah joined the team at Basin Run Animal Hospital in October 2014. She has mulitple years of experience in the veterinary field and also worked as a zoo keeper. Sarah resides in Port Deposit with her husband and two children.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys the outdoors and reading. She also has many pets including a Jack Russel, Fiona, a Lab, Westley, four cats (Kenobi, Riddick, Callie and Snarf), and two rabbits (Atila the Bun and Buddy).

Veterinary Technician Jessica Kyle with CatJessica joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital staff in July 2009 and is currently enrolled in classes to become a registered veterinary technician.

She enjoys spending time with her son, Colton. Jessica loves being outdoors and riding her horse, an American Quarter Horse named Penny. She also has three cats – Belle, Tequila, and Sparrow, and a small mixed breed dog, Remy.

Veterinary Technician Rachel Pierce with DogRachael joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital family in April 2016. In 2012 she followed her love of animals and attended Cecil College's Veterinary Assistant program. Rachael has worked her way up the ranks and is an accomplished veterinary technician. She is raising her two teenage children, but plans on enrolling in classes to become a registered technician.

Rachael enjoys spending time at the beach, going kayaking, and hanging out with friends and family. She also has two mixed breed dogs, Manny and Karma and two cats, Sage and Rey.

Veterinary Technician AshleyAshley joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital in November 2017. She has a background as a technician in rescues and shelter medicine. Ashley is a graduate of University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.

Ashley enjoys being outdoors, camping and kayaking. She also likes curling up with a good book during bad weather. At home, Ashley has two dogs, a Boxer, Sammy, and a Pitbull, Nayeli, and a cat, April.

Veterinary Assistant LizLiz is one of our seasonal staff members and joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital in September of 2012. She is attending veterinary school in London currently. In her spare time, she likes to read and hang out with friends. Liz also has a cat named Mia.

 

 

Veterinary Assistant NikkiNikki is one of our seasonal staff members and joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital team in May 2015. She hopes to one day become a veterinarian and is in the process of applying to vet school.

When she is not working, she spends her time doing large animal internships. She also has six dogs, all Australian Shepherds, and two cats.



Veterinary Receptionist Courtney RozekCourtney joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital team in October 2009. She resides in Rising Sun and has two small children and six dogs – three Chihuahuas (Ruby, Don Juan, and Max), a Cocker Spaniel, Scrappy Doo, a Pug, Jasper, and a French Mastiff, Reine.

On the weekends, Courtney enjoys spending the day at the park with her children and going on beach trips. She enjoys walking the trails at Susquehanna Park. On Sundays she enjoys bringing Renie to work with her, she is a wonderful people greeter.

Veterinary Receptionist Jane SewaldJane moved to Maryland in 1994 and started immediately at Basin Run Animal Hospital. After a brief leave she returned in 2011. Jane resides in Conowingo with her husband, Terry. They have two children, Rebecca and Grant, who have blessed them with two granddaughters, Rose and Grace.

They have recently added a new dog, Freddie, a Scottish Terrier to their family.

 

Veterinary Receptionist Christine Chavez with dogChristine joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital staff in February 2017. She plans to go to school to obtain a degree in forensic chemistry.

In her free time, Christine enjoys writing, singing, playing her guitar and spending time with her husband and two dogs, Maya and Buddy, and cat, Stella.

 

Veterinary Receptionist Kerry Duval with DogKerry began working for Basin Run Animal Hospital in 2002. After being away for three years to start a family, she returned in 2014. Kerry graduated from Western Maryland College in 2000 with a BA in Sociology. At WMC she was a member of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority and team captain of both the Field Hockey and Track & Field teams. She also achieved All American status as a sprinter, hurdler and jumper.

Kerry resides in Rising Sun with her husband, two daughters, and their two dogs, a collie, Kipton, and a bloodhound, Maple. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, reading and swimming. As an active member at Nottingham Church, she sings in the choir, helps with food services and assists with their senior group, the OWLS. She also volunteers at her daughter’s elementary school once a week.

Receptionist Tanya DelaneyOriginally from Seattle Washington, Tanya moved around a lot due to her parents being in the military and she grew up mainly overseas. Tanya joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital team in May 2017 and brings over 10 years of experience in the veterinarian industry.

Tanya currently resides in the North East with her husband and daughter, two dogs, one cat, and two red-eyed tree frogs. In her spare she time enjoys swimming, reading, and trail walking with dogs.

Receptionist Jennifer AdkinsJennifer works in the back office keeping track of our inventory. She joined the Basin Run Animal Hospital team in March of 2011. Jennifer and her husband are empty-nesters (no more children or pets living at home) and are enjoying every minute of it.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys horseback riding, knitting, weaving, traveling and spending time with her grandson.

 

Office Assistant Kathie LowmanKathie has been with the Basin Run Animal Hospital team since July of 1989. She lives in Colora with her husband Jim.

Kathie loves traveling, antiquing, and spending time with her family- she has nine grandkids and three great grandkids. Some of her favorite vacation and travel spots are Outer Banks, NC and San Antonio, TX.

 

Kennel Assistant Kendyl JonesKendyl joined the staff of Basin Run Animal Hospital in February of 2016. She attends Rising Sun High School and plans to pursue Veterinary medicine when she graduates.

Kendyl enjoys spending time with family and friends. She has a dog, Toby, a cat, Angel, and two turtles, Sheldon and Shelly.

 

Kiley joined the staff of Basin Run Animal Hospital in September of 2017. She attends Rising Sun High School and plans to attend college after she graduates.

Kiley enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. She has two dogs, Harley and Zoey, and three goats.

Groomer Denise with dogs Denise joined our staff as a groomer in 2011 after a long career in the Cosmetology industry. She has three Chihuahuas, Bitsy, Socks and Tipper, three cats, Miko, Moxy and Ellie, a horse and two miniature donkeys. Denise is here Wednesday through Saturday.
